The anticipation for GTA 6 has reached its peak. Rockstar Games officially acknowledged the sequel's active development in February 2022, promising more information in due time. However, just a few months later, over 90 leaked video clips showcasing the game's development footage disrupted the excitement.

In a recent BBC report, Arion Kurtaj, a member of the infamous Lapsus$ hacking group, has been found guilty by a UK court for leaking more than 90 Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay clips in September 2022.

Notably, Arion was also linked to cyberattacks on other prominent corporations, including Uber and Nvidia. Shockingly, he disclosed GTA 6 gameplay from a hotel room using an Amazon Fire TV Stick and a smartphone, even going so far as to threaten Rockstar with revealing the game's source code.

Speculations had arisen in July 2023, suggesting that Arion might be unfit for trial. However, the latest BBC report confirms that this 18-year-old hacker is indeed responsible for leaking nearly a hundred clips of GTA 6 gameplay footage. His sentencing is scheduled for a later date.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Release Date Rumors

Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two Interactive, acknowledged that while GTA 6 leaks did affect the developers emotionally, it had no significant business impact.

Therefore, it's likely that the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series won't encounter any delays. However, the release date remains a well-guarded secret. Informed sources have hinted at a release window between late 2024 and early 2025.

Interestingly, details from Take-Two Interactive's recent earnings call have added weight to these claims. Strauss Zelnick anticipates that Fiscal 2025 (FY25) will be a highly profitable period for the company, with an expected Net Bookings revenue of $8 billion.

Among all the titles in Take-Two's portfolio, Grand Theft Auto 6 stands out as the most promising revenue generator. Consequently, rumors suggest the game will likely debut during FY25, spanning from late 2024 to early 2025.

Fans are buzzing with excitement about the potential features of Grand Theft Auto 6, even though official information is scarce. Some recent rumors circulating on social media hint at dynamic weather systems, facial recognition technology, and an overhaul of the police AI. The confirmation of these features in Rockstar's upcoming game will only come after its release.
